‘Blossom Flowers’ is a poetic journey in the forest and urban green oases, through the eyes of children sharing their magical universe connected to nature.
The project is an ongoing collaboration and art residency with kids from elementary schools in Brussels to reflect, experiment, and connect with the forest through the lens. It started as a reaction to the stark reality of urban children, as revealed by the local NGOs Goodplanet and Paper Chain Forum in 2018: “One in two children in Brussels rarely or never visits the forest.”
Named after Eric Gottesman’s ‘Sudden Flowers’, this collaborative project combines photovoice and forest bathing processes and methods, aiming to connect children with nature through contemplation and to make visible its importance in their growth, development, and creativity.
