Maurice Feschet, France
Climate Change means the failure of my generation to the detriment of future generations.
“President Emmanuel Macron,
I am Maurice Feschet, lavender producer in Grignan, in the Drôme. My family has been producing lavender for three generations. Because of the impacts of climate change, our production has become unmanageable and uncertain. 44% in 6 years: this represents our real losses of receipts in Provence because of these impacts. Climate inaction puts us at risk and threatens our fundamental rights. Today at the European Council, I ask you to listen to the scientists and vote for a reduction of emissions by 65 per cent by 2030.
Maurice Feschet”
Climate Change looks like burnt lavender fields.
Climate Change smells like scorched earth.
